Jacob:

I started my journey in carpentry because I love wood work, but also because its my family tradition since 1961.... CR SRL

Tools got me in trouble when I was little, but it was love at first site and was worth the aftermath every time

I began in 1999 labouring and working in different places, I was also in a wood machine shop at one point

Dry lining / Carpentry, then I came to the UK in 2006

I went from painting and decorating in Knightsbridge, to underpinning in and out of sloan square, Balham, horsham etc etc

I personally made the 17 pins at the army centre in Balham London, working for 4site, took only 16 days, I put here few pics, i followed massive companies around

from underpinning to formwork, shuttering 2nd fix, kitchens

I love all of it, the variety of different jobs, situations, techniques, i became work dependent for more informations, I became tool alcoholic because they where never enough....

I wanted to seize all knowledge, I didn't want to ask anymore I wanted to be able to do it....

Today i can really build a house on my own

Hand crafted timber frames, the smell of freshly sawn beach-pine its something i cannot express, this trade just gives me the most amazing rewards, especially at the end of a long hard day

The dust the war zone like environment makes me feel the man i do not really feel like when sitting in traffic or jumping on a bus

I always pushed through by taking inspiration from those individuals who where in charge of the all site/project, those who were the doers 

I always kept busy

During the years i developed love for the trade and community within it, the one that pushes the boundaries, i kept the oldschool mindset for quality, timing, and planning in which, during all this time, i kept close to the best i ever meet, they great mans, dedicated to the good craft, those that have no time for what is not by the book, those who can start and finish by making it look very easy

Grand:

I started in this industry about 10 years ago, it all came down as I had to be helping a friend as he unfortunately broke his collarbone, and that's the day I stepped in to help his boss whom wasn’t short handed.
I begin in the hustle and bustle of site, seeing things happen all around, and being involved with it really opened my eyes, i loved it, and I wanted to do this for a career

Not sure if it was the overall experience and design, or the intensity and pride at the end of everyday, mostly it was the general overlay of what site is!
A Man world! Open to anyone who want to be part of strong Man orientated and managed enviroment

Doesnt matter if your a male or female, religion or background

As long as you can take care of one and other and understand the very most importance of common sense and selflessness to your colleagues and community, as long as you respect the process which is though engineered environment, where things are real, then your mostly welcome into something that can really become like a family of your own! Where we reapect, support and uplift eachothers with no judgment nor bullying "that won't save you from banter" your all welcome to be part of what i see and believe to be the most fantastic job i could ever wish to get hand on with

What made it special for me, and i think it helped, was the two role models that I had while I was being taught, there was Mr. Alex D. whose dad had a company before he did

He was familiar to site from an early age

He was hands on and never expected me to do something he wouldn’t do; From his experiences with his dad he had many stories to tell, amzing tales; Followed by Mr. John M. whose keen eye would spot a future mistake before it happened

I felt I gained a world of knowledge before ever touching a tool but it has always felt more than a job, it felt like i was in my element, we make dreams happen, doesn’t matter what is the request, we are the ones who would find a way to make it happen, and I still carry that echos today
